Natural Earth Mined vs Lab Grown Diamonds

We work with both natural earth mined diamonds and lab grown diamonds alike based on client preferences.

Few important points we would like to convey:

Lab grown diamonds are 100% real diamonds, made of the same chemical, optical and physical properties than natural earth mined diamonds: Carbon atoms. Not to be confused with cz or moissanite which are totally different gemstones.

Lab grown diamonds respond to light in the same way and are just as hard as natural diamonds.

Natural diamonds have an intrinsic romantic value due to the fact they were formed under the earth surface billions of years ago.

“Think of it this way: laboratory-grown diamonds are like ice from your refrigerator, while natural diamonds are like ice from a glacier. They are both ice, although their formation stories and the age of each are very different” – From the GIA website

It is impossible to distinguish the two with the naked eye. You would need special machinery to distinguish them.

The main difference between laboratory-grown and natural diamonds lie in their origin.

Natural diamonds come from beneath the earth surface and were formed billions of years ago, while lab diamonds are formed starting from a seed of a natural diamond and grown in machines that recreate the same pressure and temperature of the earth in a fraction of the time (usually around three months).

Due to the fact that lab grown diamonds market is a very young market, and due to the fact that production has ramped up in recent years, the future value of lab grown diamonds remains to be determined. On the other side natural diamonds tend to hold value over time.

Lab grown diamonds have steadily increase in popularity as you can get a higher carat weight, higher color and clarity for a significantly lower price.
